Launch of clinical trial of Phimostop

Rome, January 2017 – Recently, Phimomed received a request from Fondazione PTV – Policlinico Universitario di Roma “Tor Vergata,” asking if we could supply them with a few sample Phimostop kits, so they could conduct a not-for-profit clinical trial. After excellent sales results and the satisfaction of customers, the success of Phimostop – the first medical device for the treatment of phimosis, without the need for surgical circumcision – has now gained respect from the medical and academic domain concerned with the product.

The eagerness of hospital academic environments to test the hypothesis that Phimostop offers a solid, relatively rapid way of addressing and resolving phimosis cases without surgery is perhaps understandable. It could bring them numerous benefits. Hospitals would obtain significant savings, whilst their patients could be cured without having to undergo surgery. A non-surgical treatment would also help patients avoid long waiting times, and the psychological effects that derive from them, and the need to address the expense involved in having surgery at a private healthcare facility.

Phimomed, which patented and manufactured the medical device, has agreed to provide the necessary materials until the study is complete.
